Hands-on Astronomy

 

DESCRIPTION:

Learn how to research bright stars during the year and 'Wowee' your friends about astronomy and the night sky, even in our light polluted cities.  I will instruct you how to use objects when describing deep space targets and various fascinating aspects of astronomy, i.e., distance to the closest star, measuring one light year, describing how large our Milky Way Galaxy is, etc.  You can use these 'tools' for your monthly AE presentation or for recruiting if AE is part of your 'CAP pitch' to bring in new members.  Stop by and see me during the CPC Saturday social night for a quick look at some of the topics we discuss in my class via my 10" reflecting telescope (weather permitting).'
