NRA First Steps

 

DESCRIPTION:

 

NRA Marksmanship Course at CPC!

 

Who can attend this course? Two NRA "FIRST Steps Rifle Orientation" courses will be offered to cadets -- with little or no previous firearms experience -- during the Cadet Programs Conference. These courses will be offered on both Saturday and Sunday, so it may preclude attendance at other CPC classes on the day of attendance. Mornings will be spent in the classroom, afternoons at the range.

 

Please read this entire message carefully if you are interested in attending!

The only qualification for this course is a desire to learn to safely and accurately shoot a rifle! 

 

This course is not intended for cadets who have attended any previous shooting class at CPC, an NRA Basic Rifle course, or similar firearms training and experience. 

If you have the desire but no prior opportunity to learn how to shoot (other than using a simulator), you must

 

                (1) First, send in your registration for CPC before you will be accepted in this course. (www.cawgcadets.org/cpc2017)

 

                (2) While completing registration, on the first page select "yes" to the "Interested in attending an NRA class?" option. 

                (3) Once you receive your registration confirmation email, use the link provided and go ahead and select classes for all 9 blocks, regardless of your registration status for NRA. If accepted into NRA, your class reservation will automatically be fixed without your assistance after your 9 blocks have been registered.

 

                (4) Within 48 hours you will receive an email with the payment link to register specifically for the NRA course. You will not be registered for NRA until you have properly paid using the link emailed too you. 

 

                (5) Once you register for NRA, you're done! Ensure you have selected all 9 classes, even if you are registered for NRA. CPC will adjust your schedule at the event. 

 

               

 

Registration deadline is 1 February 2014.  Enrollment is limited to 30 students (20 Saturday, 10 Sunday). If there are more than 30 cadets who wish to attend, you may be wait-listed, but admission to the class cannot be guaranteed. Act quickly because acceptance will be in the order of online enrollment!

 

Course Fee:  There is a separate fee of $30 for this course to cover the cost of the NRA course materials, ammunition and other costs.  This fee is NOT included in your registration for CPC!  Students should bring $30 with them on the day of the course to be admitted to the class.  Note: You will NOT be admitted to the class or allowed to participate if you do not bring your course fee with you to the class!

 

Remember, first you must register for CPC and complete the process, then register for the NRA FIRST Steps course.  Come learn to have fun shooting!
